Swim Series Discussion: Surviving in Tough Economic Times

According to research, one third of all new businesses fail after two years, and fifty-six percent fail after four years. Add to this fact the devastating realities of the current economic crisis, and it's easy to see why small-business owners are stressed. But there's hope, and not surprisingly, it comes from those who have faired tough economic times: successful business owners.

SpringBoard will be hosting its bimonthly seminar, the Swim Series, next Tuesday, November 18, to provide strategies for business owners coping with the recession. The event will bring successful local entrepreneurs together to discuss practical ways to survive difficult economic times.

Speakers for the event include Jonathan Bragdon, CEO of Tricycle, who will provide an entrepreneur's perspective; Timothy Kelly, CEO of Kelly Car Dealerships, who brings expertise in the field of marketing; and Andy Moore, Vice President of Private Client Services at First Tennessee Bank, with years of experience in the financial sector.

"Surviving in Tough Economic Times" will take place at CreateHere, 55 E. Main Street, and runs from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Attendees are asked to RSVP by contacting Sheldon Grizzle at 423.648.2195. This event is free for SpringBoard graduates, $5 for all others. Space is limited.
